Music is a great way of expressing oneself and I love it. Wether I am walking, studying, drawing or even just doing nothing I am always listening to music. I don't really know how to describe my music tastes as they can change widely from one week to another. But I would say that my 'go to's' are rock, pop-rock and indie music, still you could litterally catch me listening to something widely different from that lol. I am also very interested in a lot of alt culture and esthetique so I try to listen to punk and goth music !!
My favourite artists are usually Mindless Self Indulgence, Mommy Long Legs Mother Mother, Chappel Roan, She Wants Revenge, Sir Chloe, Luvcat, Kimya Dawson, Cavetown, Mitski, Tikkle me and Adrianne Lenker. I also really like vocaloid/utaus and my fav is Gumi >.<

So I'm kind of late for this now as it's the end of january (at least when I'm writing this entry) but I really wanted to dedicate a small text about the music I listened to this year. I think my 2024 has been pretty prolific in terms of music : i've discoverd a lot of artists and rediscovered others and I would say I've expended my music tastes.I think my favorite album this year is Traumatic Livelihood, I found it again in november I would say and I finally got around to listen to the full album and I loved it ! Another album (and artist) I discovered this year is Monarch of Monster by Vylet pony. I've discovered so many artists I now love last year it's incredible, there's of course Chappell Roan but also Mommy Long Legs, She Wants, Revenge, Panchiko, ... Overall, i would say 2024 has been a great year for my music tastes !! i can't wait to expend it even more !!
I find it sad that cds are slowly dying with the rise of streaming platforms such as deezer and spotify. Meanwhile vinils seem to become way more popular, which is something I can only partly understand : like vinils are 30-40€ ?!?! but at the same time i get that they are really pretty, especially when displayed well but most people don't even own a vinil player so... Cds, on the otherhand, are way less expensive (imo) and handier to use and stock. I love cds because I love having a physical object of things I like ; it makes me feel like a true fan. Moreover it also makes that feeling of giving money to the artist "realer" if you get what I mean. In my opinon, streamin platforms makes it harder to feel close to the artist and follow their newest releases. Although, I can rarely find cds from artists I actually enjoy (like addriane lenker's "song" omg i've been looking for it everywhere and I refuse to buy it online) where I live and I feel like nowadays physical copies are only sold in big stores, where tbh I would rather not spend my money. I've seen an actual record shop in my city so I should probably go check it out soon but keep making excuses. I'll make it my goal for this month !
